Privacy Policy for Tenhouse
Last updated: July 11, 2026
Tenhouse ("the app", "we", "us") is a real-time multiplayer card game for Android and iOS. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. We've kept it short because the app collects very little.
Summary
- No account required. There is no sign-up, email, password, or phone number.
- We don't run any analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
- The only personal detail you provide is a nickname and a choice of avatar.
- Most of your data (your nickname, avatar, and game progression) stays on your device.
- The game server keeps match data in memory only and does not store it in a database.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Nickname — the display name you type during setup. You can change it at any time. It is stored on your device and sent to our game server so other players can see who they're playing against.
- Avatar — one of a fixed set of built-in cartoon avatars you select. This is a preset choice, not an uploaded image or photo.
Information stored on your device
The following is saved locally on your device and is not sent to our servers:
- A randomly generated Player ID (shown as
ID XXXX-XXXX), created the first time you open the app.
- Game progression — your level, title, win rate, in-game coins, and games won/played.
This data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear its data.
Information shared during gameplay
When you join a match, your nickname, avatar, and progression stats (level, title, win rate, coins, games won/played) are sent to our server and shown to the other players at your table, so everyone can see who they're playing with. This information is used only for the duration of the match.
Technical information
- When your device connects to our game server, our hosting provider processes standard connection information such as your IP address as a normal part of delivering the service. We do not use this to identify you or build a profile.
- The app sends its app version and platform (Android or iOS) to our server to check whether an update is required.
Information We Do Not Collect
To be explicit, Tenhouse does not collect or access:
- Your real name, email address, phone number, or date of birth
- Your location or GPS data
- Your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or files
- Any advertising identifiers
- Analytics, crash-reporting, or behavioral tracking data
On Android, the app requests only the INTERNET permission, which is needed to connect to the game server.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information above solely to:
- Run multiplayer matches and show players to one another during a game
- Save your nickname, avatar, and progress so they persist between sessions
- Prompt you to update the app when a new version is required
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
How Information Is Shared
- With other players: your nickname, avatar, and in-game stats are visible to opponents during a match, as described above.
- With our hosting provider: the game server runs on a third-party cloud hosting provider, which processes connection data on our behalf to host the service.
- App distribution: the app is distributed through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, which have their own privacy practices.
We do not share your information with any other third parties, and we never sell it.
Data Retention
- Server: match and player data on the server is held in memory only for the duration of a game session. It is not written to a database, and it is discarded when the match ends or the server restarts.
- On your device: your nickname, avatar, Player ID, and progression stay on your device until you delete the app or clear its data.
Children's Privacy
Tenhouse is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can change your nickname and avatar at any time within the app.
- You can remove all locally stored data by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
- Because we don't operate accounts or store personal data in a database, there is no account for us to delete or export. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights regarding personal data; given how little we hold, you can exercise most of these simply by clearing the app's data. For any questions, contact us below.
Security
We use secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS) between the app and our server. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we limit risk by collecting as little data as possible.
International Users
The app may be used from anywhere. Our servers and hosting provider are located in the United States, so your connection data may be processed there. By using the app you understand that game data is processed as described in this policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, noted in the app.
